The City of Sunset Valley is undergoing a process to envision the future of Brodie Lane, a major commercial and transportation corridor within the City. The concepts developed in this project will be used to guide the design and construction of future improvements to Brodie Lane. The goal of this project is to create a vision for a complete and safe street that balances the needs of vehicular, bicycle, pedestrian, and Violet Crown Trail users. The conceptual design will incorporate recommendations for standards relating to streetscape infrastructure, beautification, lighting, landscape, artistic elements, and more.     On April 2, 2024 Mend Collaborative presented the conceptual design, including the results of the community feedback and case study, project phasing, and opinion of probable costs to the City Council. Click here to view the presentation.

    The City Council directed staff to present the conceptual design, but in particular Phase 1A of the project to the five Standing Committees and the Arts Commission. The Council wishes to focus on lighting and pedestrian safety on Brodie Lane.

    After each of the Committees and the Arts Commission have provided feedback on the project and Phase 1A, Council will revisit Reimagine Brodie at their regular meeting on June 4th as the City prepares for project and budget planning for Fiscal Year 2024-2025.
